| Campaign finance rules for Gaithersburg City Council elections are governed by City code - NOT by federal or state laws. The maximum contribution by any individual or entity is $500. Checks should be made payable to "Ryan Spiegel" with words like "Gaithersburg," "City Council," or "Campaign Contribution" in the memo line. (Gaithersburg does NOT use separate campaign accounts such as "Friends of Ryan Spiegel" or "Citizens for Ryan Spiegel," etc.) We will keep meticulous track of all contributions and expenditures, issue you a receipt, and file publicly available campaign finance reports with the City.
